Charleston wedding invitation

January 31, 2018

This Charleston Wedding invitation is stunning. Simply said, everything is done right here. The classic copperplate calligraphy and elegant engraving on a thick white card is a luxury. I adore how the color is fresh in Charleston green and it ties in perfectly with the very lovely save the date.

While I did all the calligraphy- credit goes to Ceci New York for the design and execution of this gorgeous, timeless Charleston wedding invitation.

The save the date used the same classic copperplate script, letterpress printing and Ceci’s gorgeous watercolor work. It really exudes Charleston.

I think it amazing how timeless this Charleston Wedding invitation looks at nearly three years on. It could have been 50 years ago or 50 years from not but will always be in season to me.

Place Cards with a classic look

January 31, 2018

I adore place cards with a classic look for casual to black tie weddings. These in particular are a favorite for the classic black ink on white cotton paper. The look is a bit fresh with the use of my Sofia script which has a modern sentiment.

Place card with the guests first name only are ideal for a smaller event and show an intimacy of a thoughtful event. When you have a larger celebration, we always suggest place cards with first and last names to help communicate the traffic flow a bit more efficiently.

And for those of you asking: what is the difference between a place card and an escort card? A place card is the card with your guests name placed at the specific seat you want your guest to sit at. Only one guest can be listed on this card. An escort card is a card or envelope/card combo that contains your guests name and the table number you want them to sit at. This can contain a couple or individual names.

It is possible to have escort cards without place cards, but we do recommend to not have place cards in a classic look without escort cards unless the guest count is under 30.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming Wedding in Martha Stewart Weddings

January 18, 2018

Wow! I am so honored to have this Jackson Hole, Wyoming wedding in Martha Stewart Weddings. It is always an incredible experience working with Easton Events and the fabulous Rock Paper Scissors.

Dani is such a great designer and she and Heather knocked this invitation design out of the park.

I did the calligraphy for the wedding invitation in my classic Zander hand. It was then engraved in the prettiest dusty blue you have seen. All that is lovely but then Dani used original watercolor artwork for the custom made inner envelope. Wow! I also really love the mountain cutout for the details card.

Of course a custom wedding invitation is not complete without calligraphy envelope addressing. I completed these in a custom matched ink color and the matching calligraphy hand to the invitation.

For the day of stationery, Rock Paper Scissors watercolored the escort card envelopes and I used my Zander calligraphy for the guest names in white ink. It made an eye catching display.

Custom Monogram Design

January 16, 2018

I absolutely love working on a custom monogram design with clients. The vintage feel of these NEVER go out of style and always feel current. While having a custom monogram designed is a bit of a time commitment and a bit of an expense, it is a luxury that you can use forever.

For example, I worked with the lovely Carolyn when she wanted to use a monogram on her wedding invitation and programs and menu cards. She then proceeded to use it on a variety of products to make her life luxurious.

Here are her engraved note cards printed by Crane’s. And let me tell you – these will last her forever. They will never go out of style.

Also, she had the perfect idea to have it embroidered on her and her husbands bathrobes. I LOVE this idea. Everyone loves the bathrobes at a resort – why not enjoy that feeling year round with style?!

Dallas Wedding Calligraphy – Italian themed

Dallas Wedding Calligraphy – Italian themed

I love working with the team at Emily Clarke events. Their table settings are top notch. They always make my work look so good…especially for this Italian themed Dallas Wedding Calligraphy.

These little tags tied around an olive branch atop the napkin and menu are just so welcoming! This is a seat that I would want to sit in and laugh and talk with my table mates all night! We used my Olivia script on these sweet place cards. The ink was a custom mixed green. The olive branches on the napkins were fresh picked.  Fresh greenery adds a touch of warmth and intimacy on any table. The florist is really important in bringing life to a table setting.  When floral and calligraphy are pulled together, magic happens!

And this great set up is where the escort cards display went for the rehearsal dinner. The little tags were pinned into the fresh produce. I loved the red color and a bit more casual script on these! We used my Mitty hand.  They were tiny at only 1 inch tall.

This display is so lovely.  I think it would be great for any intimate rehearsal dinner or party.  It looks so effortless and simple, but I’m sure there is more work than it looks like.  Emily and her team are brilliant at styling these escort card displays.  I love this idea for a co-op produce exchange too.  How fun to make that into a party to celebrate the bounty for the season.
