Dallas Wedding Calligraphy – Italian themed

January 9, 2018

Dallas Wedding Calligraphy – Italian themed

I love working with the team at Emily Clarke events. Their table settings are top notch. They always make my work look so good…especially for this Italian themed Dallas Wedding Calligraphy.

These little tags tied around an olive branch atop the napkin and menu are just so welcoming! This is a seat that I would want to sit in and laugh and talk with my table mates all night! We used my Olivia script on these sweet place cards. The ink was a custom mixed green. The olive branches on the napkins were fresh picked.  Fresh greenery adds a touch of warmth and intimacy on any table. The florist is really important in bringing life to a table setting.  When floral and calligraphy are pulled together, magic happens!

And this great set up is where the escort cards display went for the rehearsal dinner. The little tags were pinned into the fresh produce. I loved the red color and a bit more casual script on these! We used my Mitty hand.  They were tiny at only 1 inch tall.

This display is so lovely.  I think it would be great for any intimate rehearsal dinner or party.  It looks so effortless and simple, but I’m sure there is more work than it looks like.  Emily and her team are brilliant at styling these escort card displays.  I love this idea for a co-op produce exchange too.  How fun to make that into a party to celebrate the bounty for the season.

Mexico Destination Wedding

October 19, 2016

When you have a Mexico destination wedding….you go for color and texture and FUN!

This past year I had the pleasure of contributing to many celebrations in Mexico and wanted to share a few of the print pieces with you.

This save the date was laser cut in the picadillo style in a hot pink with calligraphy envelope addressing to match.

One of my favorite projects of the year were these laser cut limes for an escort card display.  The welcome glasses contained a shot of tequila and it made for the most fun presentation to start of a fun night.

These oranges were actually hung in a tree brought into the reception area for the escort cards.  It made for a stunning statement right upon entry.

How can you go wrong with laser cut, watercolor & gold foiled palms.  I loved this suite by Emily Clarke Events and really enjoyed the envelope addressing in white using my brushy Samantha script.

For the same wedding as above, the rehearsal dinner had a different more organic and natural tone.  These place cards on leather really added to the texture and dimension of the table setting.

These place cards were used for a welcome dinner as well and the tags were tied around a personal bottle of tequila.  I adore that the card was printed to match a handpainted tile (used for the table runner).  My casual mitty script in ultramarine to match gave the table setting a casual welcoming feel.

Dallas wedding calligrapher

June 27, 2016

As a Dallas wedding calligrapher, it’s always an honor to be asked to provide calligraphy for the dallas wedding industry and I had the privilege of my script gracing the pages of D Magazine this month. You can see the spot calligraphy on the same page as local florist pros talk about their favorite flowers.  It was so much fun to write the sweet floral words for this spread.

This was completed in my Mitty hand. Pick up a copy on newsstands today!

It seems the dahlia is a favorite among the florists along with the ranunculus’ (I also really love these!).  They may be making an appearance in my garden for next year. 🙂

mitzvah calligrapher – event calligraphy

March 9, 2016

It is always so much fun working as a mitzvah calligrapher. There is joy and COLOR!  Loved providing calligraphy for Cait and Jules on this event. The place cards are in white ink using my Mitty script.  The white stood out on these happy pastel cards and kept a light look about them.  The little stickers with numbers were applied to the seating cards for table assignments.

Escort cards using multiple colors in my Mitty caps calligraphy script. I was able to pull lots of color from the pastel place cards to use on the escort card envelopes.  For a new york mitzvah calligrapher, it is essential to get all the guests to their destination to help with traffic flow.  When the technical function gets to be pretty too – I’m happy.
