Sofia Fox says
Hi Nicole
I am writing on behalf of my left-handed, nine year old daughter, Sofia Fox, who received a calligraphy set for Christmas and has been struggling to achieve anything near what she’d like to dues to her left-handedness. I stumbled upon your site whilst searching for help from online tutorials (none of which have been very helpful) and was over the moon to discover your website. I showed your beautiful work to Sofia and told her not to give up, to be inspired by you and have promised to find a way to help her to achieve her calligraphic dreams.
So if you have a few minutes, any advice or tips would be so gratefully received. And if we’re lucky enough to be a recipient of a real posted letter in the mail, we’ll be delighted, indeed!
Thanks so much,
Leanne Willars (on behalf of Sofia Fox)

Hi Leanne,
Thank you so much for your note. I am so happy you found my site to keep Sofia inspired. You should have a personal e-mail shortly with a few tips. But, as a reminder to all: practice is the only way to achieve success. Most skills do not come naturally and take hard work and dedication (I have been a student for 15 years already and still learn and improve everyday!).
warmly,
Nicole

Your work is really exquisite, and I am enjoying looking through your blog. This is a little belated, but for a calligrapher every day is Happy Handwriting Day!

Thank you Randall – I appreciate the kind words. Yes, it is always handwriting day around here 🙂
