Luxury Austin Texas Wedding – Martha Weddings

August 19, 2016

This luxury Austin Texas wedding was featured in Martha Weddings and I am thrilled to share it with you!  The team of creatives was outstanding so be sure to checkout everyone involved below but I do want to shout out to some of the idea makers: Design & Planning by The Wildflowers, Stationery by Southern Fried Paper, stunning photography by Ryan Ray and gorgeous floral by The Southern Table.  This is what happy wedding dreams are made of and it was such an honor for me to play a part in it.

Well, I have to say it… these are some of my very favorite wedding invitations created so far.  I adore the modern script, clean classic letterpress in blue on thick paper and can we talk about the stunning envelope liner?  WOW! It is feminine without being girly, the blue tones are dreamy and the modern script keeps it fresh looking.  The envelope addressing was actually in a pale blue for a tonal look.  Southern Fried Paper and I have such a good working relationship and you can really see it come together in this suite.

The escort card display was an art installation between paper, artist Kayla Barker and florist The Southern Table. The escort cards were on grey paper with purple ink in the same modern script used on the invitations.  Each card had a dainty little blue ribbon and push pin used to hang on the large scale back drop created by Kayla Barker.  Finishing touches of floral decorations added by The Southern Table.

When the guests entered the reception tent for this luxury Austin Texas wedding; they were greeted by a stunning hanging floral installation, twinkle lights and welcoming long tables set up specifically for hearty laughs and good conversations.

Each place setting used a beautiful lacy charger, linen napkins, blue ribbon and a personalized menu card.  The menu color designated which entree the guest selected and the names were in a coordinating blue.  The effect was a graceful ombre across the table from light, medium and dark blue.  We also used a favorite of mine – first names only so they could be large and make a statement!

Finally, each guest received a little welcome bag filled with Texas based items and a little tag tied on that featured my calligraphy.

Luxury Austin Wedding – Texas Calligrapher

April 15, 2016

This as a luxury Austin wedding.  I’m so thrilled to share this special stationery with you. Created in collaboration with The Nouveau Romantics for a special Austin wedding in the spring of 2015. Featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, I am getting to share here now!

We used my grace calligraphy with a modern touch. The save the dates made a special statement using white foil on a bright green paper.  I think the modern lines really kept the look fresh for a luxury austin wedding – and not too stuffy!

The invitation was beautifully letterpressed in blue ink, backed with wood and enclosed in a stunning blue folder printed with the couples monogram. All packed, tied Ina stunning ribbon, wrapped in a box and mailed off with matching calligraphy addressing. Such a lovely presentation

The reception had a wonderful personalized menu with the menu on the back. Foil printed in white on blue paper to match. Then we had escort card enclosures with the same green paper pop from the save the date announcements. Calligraphy was in white for these. I just love the reserved signs for the family to be used for ceremony. There were also placecards for the head table. And to finish off the night we calligraphed on sachets filled with confetti to send the couple off at the end of the night.

Southern Weddings Magazine Feature – Texas Wedding Calligrapher

November 17, 2015

It is always a joy working on content to be featured in the Southern Weddings Magazine.  Those girls have a keen eye and know how to organize a thoughtful, inspirational event for southern girls to drool over for months and years.  I am particularly proud of participating in this volume because it features Texas in such a lovely way.

Southern Fried Paper has such a talent at taking my calligraphy and giving it life on all the printed and paper products.  I cannot express what a great team we are and a joy it is to combine talents for amazing finished products.  Like these unbelievable Texas shaped chargers and the show-stopping banners 🙂

We used my Hayden style for all items to really feature what wedding calligraphy can do these days.

This menu was laser cut with calligraphy that was all original hand calligraphy.  It really maintains the organic nature of the handwritten word.

Texas Wedding Signs

Oh my goodness… this sign is just about everything.  The Hayden calligraphy is perfect for this sweet image.

Save the date Calligraphy

Save the Date Calligraphy

These announcements are super special. The trifold with printing on both sides and a photo in the middle – I just love them! The bride requested a bold wreath with a monogram. It is an interesting card that is unique for guests to open. A thoughtful little package in an envelope.  With all the information needed and interesting to look at.

My Mitty caps hand. With a bit more bounce for a festive feeling.  I’m a big fan of the navy screen print on the kraft paper.  It just feels a bit more casual for a Napa wedding.

I think the fun calligraphy styling really brings a casual California feeling to this wedding.  It slows things down a bit and tells guests that this is going to be a happy celebration.  The classic photo is also really nice. Also, the berries in the photos just give it a wholesome feeling.  Right!?

Wedding Calligraphy Addressing – The Nouveau Romantics

July 16, 2015

Wedding calligraphy addressing really gives so many options to express a personality for an event.  Weddings can have fun and interesting addressing features too!  Depending on your envelope color and ink color selections you can get something really interesting. You can use a white envelope and black ink with a traditional calligraphy style for a formal feeling.  You can change out the ink color for a more custom aesthetic.  You can change the envelope and ink color also.  Gold ink for calligraphy always makes an event feel formal and festive.

These wedding envelopes turned out so pretty with a bit of gold on the burgundy envelopes.  Perfect for fall!

In my Mitty Caps hand – and of course in collaboration with the talented The Nouveau Romantics!
