Welcome 2019! As every business owner knows, sometimes you have to recharge and reset for a new year. A time to rest up, spend time outside of your normal activities to gain a different perspective to take back with you… a little creative headspace.
Normally, I do this by taking new classes or going to the museum but this year called for a big trip to really get away. Since December is really the only time I slow down, I thought it would be the perfect time for a ski trip!
We chose Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
For the fresh powder and family friendly activities as well as their excellent ski school. It’s gorgeous up in the snow covered mountains. And, a bit of quiet time reflecting in nature was the perfect solution to my frayed nerves.
We did a few different activities: snowmobile, ski and tubing. I took my family to get some quality time with them as well. It was still a quick trip. Here are some pictures from the sunset snowmobile tour on Saddleback ranch.
The surrounding nature was stunning and quiet and peaceful. It was calm and I loved watching the way the mountains rolled.
It got VERY cold after the sun set so we headed back to the ranch for cocoa and tubing. Outside at dusk was too dark so I don’t have any photos but what a blast. The ranch had a magic carpet for the tubes and the perfect slope to speed down – I probably could have done 10 more runs!
The next day was ski day 1.
I was pumped to be on the mountains and in a peaceful place and take it slow. The perfect way to recharge.
Day 2 of skiing was a bit different because the family joined me. Skiing with them was loads of fun. I learned how to balance my skill with a kiddo. Teaching her the mountains, and the ebb and flow of ski traffic.
We celebrated a White Christmas with SNOW to recharge.
Ski day 2 was Christmas Day. We enjoyed a nice dinner together.
It was the perfect little getaway to send me back into the office recharges for a new year with new projects and wonderful new clients!
