I admit it: I love envelope addressing. This is a gorgeous one in my Olivia hand. The matching navy blue calligraphy is really a show stopper also!
Envelope addressing really makes an impact on your guests with hand calligraphy. It is the first impression to introduce them to your celebration. My clients often get photos with compliments of the envelope calligraphy after mailing. I am told many times that it helps push brides into the joyous stage of getting married after planning for such a long time.
Envelope addressing can also really reflect the style of the wedding through the calligraphy. The envelope can be very traditional black ink on a white or ivory envelope with a simple copperplate calligraphy. Or we can bring it a bit more modern with matching ink colors (like this navy blue), gold or silver. Then we could use a dark envelope with white ink calligraphy. Sometimes we use flourishing or even put the whole address on a slant for something different.
