New Penmanship Workshop with Design Roots

March 22, 2016

I am thrilled to offer my penmanship class again this spring in the beautiful studios of Design Roots.

This will be a long class that covers lower and upper case of a handwriting alphabet.  We will use accessible writing tools: pencil and pen – things you can use anywhere and take anywhere.  There will be plenty of snacks and extra goodies – however space is limited to 8 students for quality one on one instruction.

Can’t wait for you to join me – I don’t do this often so it will be a real treat.

Dallas Calligrapher -Brush Calligraphy

February 22, 2016

Hi – I’m a Dallas calligrapher and I took these pictures in the blazing heat! I am finally getting some of my work from last year photographed (only 10 more pounds of paper to take pictures of!). I’m thrilled to share some fun brush calligraphy envelope addressing with you. This centered style looks great on the square envelope.  It also takes up more space since the lines must be broken up. But, enough room is left for the postage.  I’m thinking some vintage stamps would look amazing on this.  Maybe one of those neat corner triangle stamps.  What do you think?

I love the texture and dimension with this one. Brush calligraphy has a completely different look and feel to pointed pen calligraphy.  It has become a great alternative for a casual style.  Some wedding calligraphy just does not require a traditional feel or formal touch and this is a super option.  Also – blue and white calligraphy has to be my favorite.  And the white on blue with the subtle color variation has me swooning.

Don’t forget – the wedding stationery season is here – be sure to order your calligraphy at the same time you are ordering your invitations and allow for approximately 2 weeks for envelope addressing! Any Dallas calligrapher will fill their schedule quickly!

Wedding calligrapher – Tuscany

January 28, 2016

This wedding calligrapher is absolutely thrilled to see Regina and Ryan’s wedding up on Style Me Pretty Weddings – Destination this week. It was such a joy working with Regina and the team at Momental for her wedding calligraphy.

I provided totally custom calligraphy for Regina’s wedding suite and monogram. The team at Momental printed and added their extra special painting (to each one!) to finish the process. I then addressed the envelopes and guests were invited!

When it came to day of items, the result was stunning. I must admit, some of my very favorite day of stationery in a long long time. Look at those flowers!  Each white section was hand painted. Swoon. We used the calligraphy to match her invitations. Black for the escort card calligraphy and gold calligraphy for the place cards at the top of the menus.

I’m also in love with the beautiful programs.

Congratulations to Regina and Ryan on your wedding day.

Florida calligrapher – sanibel destination wedding

January 4, 2016

It’s time to be a Florida calligrapher! When 2 industry friends marry it is a big celebration. Also lots of collaboration from their friends!  It was a privilege to provide a bit of calligraphy for John and Brittany.

These calligraphy escort cards were so lovely hanging from a tree.  The ombre color effect was designed by Emily Clarke and it turned out lovely!  With 4 different sea shell designs cut from wood, they were sturdy too.  The ink color used was also an ombre for design and legibility.

The rehearsal dinner place cards are stunning.  These tiny leather tags really added to the table design.  I’m always a big fan of white ink and on the brown leather… love!

Texas Wedding – Dallas Calligrapher

October 23, 2015

Wrapping up this Texas Wedding trip down memory lane, I could not leave without sharing one of my favorite projects.  Super fun and functional – stir sticks!  We chose to etch the monogram and wedding date on these and they turned out great!  Plus they looked wonderful during cocktail hour 🙂

Finally, they did give out delicious cookies to all guests and were sitting on the tables.  Each box had a thank you tag and custom packaging with the new monogram and flavors.
