A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working on an inspiration to reality photo shoot with Elizabeth Gonzalez of After Yes, Catie Ronquillo Photography and Emily Hudspeth Hair and Make-up. Today our board was posted on Elizabeth Anne Designs Blog – sneak peek below – but check out the site for the full inspiration board! Oh – and leave some comments to show some love!
Custom Designed Invites
My little sister moved into her first apartment last weekend and as her housewarming gift I designed fill-in invitations for her parties. She really likes to cook so I thought these would be appropriate for sharing the love.
The first ones were developed using a stamp from PaperNosh on Etsy (I was the first to buy this stamp and now they are selling like hotcakes, get one while they are still in stock!) and then embossed with silver embossing powder from Paper Source. The Calligraphy was done in the Copperplate script with black ink and the flourish was done in silver calligraphy ink. All mounted on a brown card stock.
Next, I did a series of casual invitations that say “Appetizers”, “Cook Out” and “Desserts”. These were done on white card stock (left overs from another project) with black calligraphy in in the citadel script. Casual and fun.
Finally, a tribute to the fact that she is at Texas Tech… I made some football game watching party invitations, in the Red, Black and White. The Gothic script in black ink is lettered on more left over white card stock, mounted on red paper. The dots are with black ink and red gauche. The “join us” is elevated on black card stock and a white gel pen was used for the lettering.
I had fun making these and I think they were very well received on delivery.
Thus, you need calligraphy
One of my favorites is the calligraphic wrapping paper. It adds such a nice personal touch to the packaging, I find absolutely charming.
