Ballroom Wedding Calligraphy – Dallas

October 21, 2015

It’s not often ballroom wedding calligraphy is featured on the blogs. I’m thrilled to share something personal here. My sister hosted a lovely reception in the Crescent Club at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel, Dallas. This warm and inviting space called for intimacy at the tables. At time for friends and family. So the florals were kept low so guests could chat with each other and the candles were abundant.

This “table number” for the head table was actually the couples new monogram. Such a fun idea.  And really looks nice in a ballroom wedding. Floral by Bella Flora Dallas.

All the menus were original hand calligraphy in silver ink on blue paper. The corner notches carried the details from the invitation over. We used my zanner hand for all the calligraphy details.

Wedding Invitations – Texas Ballroom Wedding

October 20, 2015

Next up to share are my sisters wedding invitations.  We letterpress printed these in blue ink using my zanner hand.  They were the classic folded style with a fun architectural detail on the outside. Soft cotton paper was used to get a nice impression.  She also chose the most traditional folded invitation style.  I think just to decorate the cover with a Greek key design.  This design played into other wedding stationery at the reception.

I also completed really lovely calligraphy envelope addressing in a matching blue ink to the wedding invitations and my zanner hand. This set featured a 2 line return address on the back flap.  The front was completed in a centered layout with a 4th line zip code.  I like this classic look and dropping the zip code adds some writing space to the larger envelopes.

Dallas Ballroom Wedding – Calligrapher

October 19, 2015

Happy Anniversary to my little sister and her Dallas ballroom wedding!  Since I have yet to share the photos and all her beautiful stationery, I thought this week would be the perfect time to show off all her gorgeous details.

First up! The save the dates and pre-party invitations!  We used the Dylan hand paired with an engagement photo and created some colorful save the dates!

Then we had a couples wedding shower to stock the bar.  This one was fun in my mitty hand to make it really modern and young feeling.

Finally, We had to have a bachelorette invitation.  The main word was in my Dylan hand with a little silver added for some sparkle.  The envelopes were black with silver lettering and confetti was put in the envelope so it was a party ready to be opened.  The schedule of events was included as well so all the girls invited could make appropriate plans.

Calligraphy Seating Cards – New York and Dallas Calligrapher

October 7, 2015

Leaves have been a trend this year for calligraphy seating cards and they can be done so many different ways!  I think that white looks best on the green to provide the most contrast and easiest to read when the mass of people enter the reception space.  This first one we did tall capital letters to keep a modern and clean look for this fun mitzvah celebration.  These were pinned onto golden apples to show people to their seats.  Lovely!

This second set were handing from a floral tree (how marvelous) for a wedding reception.  They were folded to provide dimension but it was important that we keep everything on one side for this project.  So we used my zanner calligraphy hand in white ink and put the name and table number on the same side.  Let me tell you – this was tiny writing when we started getting 2 full names on these.  Since this was a large wedding, the tree was really full with all the beautiful leaves!

New Orleans Event Calligrapher

New Orleans Event Calligrapher

I am so lucky to have amazing return clients.  This wonderful client and I have been working together on her special events and parties for the past 5 years.  This time we were celebrating a 50th Birthday in New Orleans for the whole family.  I made a few gift tags for the welcome bags and they turned out splendid.  The cards were already foil stamped and edged in gold – and my gold ink in the Grace hand matched perfectly!

There are so many fun things you can do with place cards.  I think the decorative design is a nice touch since the cards are plain so many times.  These could also be used as tags on gift or welcome bags.
