Wow – I was so privileged to work with such a great group of creatives on this unique style shoot.  Think: Metallic, sequins, desert, soft and dreamy.  Plus, it was all captured on film by the oh so talented Taylor Lord.  A couple photos below – but check out the whole feature on 100 Layer Cake here.

California Calligrapher – Published: Traditional Home Entertaining – Wedding China Redo

California Calligraphy

Wow – back in the June 2011 issue of Traditional Home Magazine I had a few great shots of my calligraphy partnered with the lovely paper stylings of Orange Spot Pink Nose.  (pages 64 and 66 if you have the print copy!)

Los Angeles Calligrapher

L.A. based event planner Rachel Hollis put together a refresh of the white china chosen years ago with new bold service plates and linens.  This inspired a lovely rich and warm new look for the dining table.  You can see my hand lettered menu and place cards that hang on the back of each chair rather than at the head of the place setting. I love the look and functionality of this – frees up valuable space on the table for all the plates, glasses and silverware! You can also see a little hand lettered tag for a sweet take home treat – perfect end to a evening with friends.

On a side note – you can also see my menus used by Rachel for a TV segment on Fox 5 San Diego talking about Valentine’s Day on a Budget :-)

We worked with Missing Q Press on these awesome place cards. Don’t you love the pop of red with the vintage sled?

Southern Weddings Magazine

Posted in calligraphy, vendor love on January 13th, 2011 by nicole

Hi All!  A few months back Southern Weddings Magazine announced they were going to have a mega photo contest for their readers.  After picking up the magazine reading and re-examining every picture I determined that there was no other wedding magazine I ever needed to purchase.  (I try to keep all the inspiration found very digital to keep my studio space footprint low).

Anyways – I set up my camera, remote release, wrote a little chalk board sign & grabbed my magazine for a little photo shoot.  Yes, I took this picture of my self and let me tell you – self portraits are difficult if you are trying to get more than just your face in there!  So this was the best of approximately 100 photos taken with my toe pressing the photo release button :-)

What’s up for grabs?  As a finalist in the V3 Mega Photo Contest I have the opportunity to choose from a $50 ITunes gift card, an ad on the blog, or a Mini Instax camera.

Of course I am aiming for an ad on the blog (dreaming of a feature with them in V4 too – any takers?).  So please vote!  I’m #10 :-)

Published in Nonpareil Magazine

Woo Hoo! I am thrilled to share this work with you all – it has been tough keeping the images secret for so long!
Back in July a team of talented people got together to do a styled shoot for Nonpareil Magazine. The lighting was perfect & the bugs were out in full force (our photographer came away with over 35 bug bites from the 2 hours outside). Our theme was The South of France meets the South – with a color scheme of lavender & purple highlighted by a natural beige color.

I was able to pull together a lovely stationery suite for this shoot. Inspired by the lovely french stripe shirt & fields of lavender bringing in some old school charm with the shield + monogram. Everything included is: Invitation, Response Card, Envelope Liner, Menu card, Place card, escort Card, Wine Label and Wine Ribbon, and finally the “Bride & Groom” Chair signs… that we changed to “Madame & Monsieur”. Wow – lot’s of paper products!

The lovely team was:
Catie Ronquillo – Photographer
Erin Daniels – Florist, Red Sole Events
Enjolik Oree-Bailey – Caterer, Low Country Quisine
Jessica Goldfarb & Lucy Williams – The Gallery Events
Chris Ryan – Location, The Ryan Manor
