Bella Figura Calligrapher – Aquinnah

Posted in Pretty Paper, Wonderous Weddings, calligraphy, vendor love on March 13th, 2013 by nicole

I also wanted to show my other lovely design for Bella Figura this year – Aquinnah.

This one is a combination of Mitty and capitals.  The feeling is so different from the last with printing in navy and powder blue.  It is perfect for a destination wedding – whether it is a fancy chateau outside of Paris or a simply lovely beach front wedding.  It really is a universal design and has a feeling of being written by hand – like a love letter to your guests.

Did you know each Bella Figura design can be customized?  You can change the fonts to include all mitty or more capitals.  So many options!

Bella Figura Calligrapher – Austin, Texas Envelopes

Posted in Pretty Paper, Wonderous Weddings, calligraphy, vendor love on January 14th, 2013 by nicole

I love being a Bella Figura calligrapher.  They are wonderful to work with, their bamboo papers are heaven to write on and the designs have such a great range of aesthetics.  Also, because of them – I get to work with the coolest clients.

This summer, I was asked to address these envelopes for an Austin, Texas bride and groom.  The patterns and colors are wonderful and made me want to run away to the beach.

New York Calligrapher – Personalized Note Cards

Posted in Gifts Galore, Notes and Such, Pretty Paper, calligraphy on November 14th, 2012 by nicole

I was looking through my photograph files (and trying to organize) and found this photo of personalized note cards.  I just love the simple lettering, each by hand and original with a color coordinating duplexed paper for the back.  So they were extra heavy and you could feel the texture of the ink of the paper.

A set of these would be such a lovely hostess gift or for a child learning to write (and value) thank you notes.  A set of 25 in a style and color of your choice on white or ivory paper with corresponding envelopes for $100. (email me to order!)

Dallas Calligraphy – July 4th at Arlington Hall

Posted in Wonderous Weddings, calligraphy, published, vendor love on July 17th, 2012 by nicole

A few years back I got to work on some pretty patriotic invitations for a fourth of July wedding.  Since we just passed the holiday and their 2 year anniversary, I thought I would share some images.

I really was pleased with the way the addressing turned out with the very bold ornament printed on the envelope.  It did need to be centered for the pretty factor.  We matched the font (which I now offer as a regular – look for it soon on the website) and used a nice blue ink color.  I love the little belly band they used with this invitation, it works really well.

Today Show Calligrapher – Memorial Day Entertaining

Posted in calligraphy, inspirational, party politely, published, vendor love on June 5th, 2012 by nicole

Wow!  It’s amazing that June is already here – May completely passed me by!

I am excited to share this Memorial Day Entertaining Guide (a little late but still applicable to summer entertaining), my calligraphy was paired up with a wonderful segment by Kim Whitman on the Today Show for Memorial Day.

Kim put together a fun popcorn bar and used my lettering for the item signs.  They turned out super cute with the red and blue paper with white lettering and fun ribbon accents.

I really love the little signs with the modern take on the red paper border only being on the top & bottom rather than all the way around.  Also – who doesn’t love how much the white ink pops on that gorgeous navy blue card?  It’s about as yummy as the popcorn bar and toppings!

Virginia Calligrapher – Lauren + Andrew (Elizabeth Anne Designs Real Wedding)

Posted in Wonderous Weddings, calligraphy, inspirational, published, vendor love on March 30th, 2012 by nicole

Yay for Lauren and Andrew have a real wedding feature on Elizabeth Anne Designs.  They were married at the Veritas Vineyard & Winery in Virginia with a preppy classic wedding.  Lauren was a doll to work with and we did everything from the addressing (her gorgeous smock invitations) to place cards and table numbers in the most gorgeous navy blue calligraphy.

Dallas Calligrapher – Personal Stationery

Posted in Branding/Logo, calligraphy on December 20th, 2011 by nicole

I am thrilled to share that my little sister graduated this past weekend with her Masters of Architecture.  Yay Brittany!  It has been a long 5.5 years in Lubbock and I am so ready for her to move a little closer to home :-)

As a soon to be graduate we decided earlier this year that it was time to get her self branding in place for all the networking and resumes she would be sending out and thank you notes she would be writing after interviews.  Since she has been signing her work as b.young, we decided to use that as her own personal logo.  And since she is an Architect, we also wanted to keep the lettering on the crisp and clean side rather than uber flowy and pretty… but still reflect her aesthetics.

For both her calling cards and her personal stationery, I duplexed the sheets for added weight and color in a very masculine navy and light grey color combo.  They were then letterpressed using the grey and navy colors.  The look turned out to be clean and not over worked – very matter of fact.

Congratulations Brittany on your graduation and very memorable personal stationery.  I know it will bring you tons of success while hunting for your first job!

Erin and Rob tie the knot in Austin

Posted in calligraphy, vendor love on September 29th, 2010 by nicole

I adore this next set of invitations. Designed by Laura of By Invitation Only, they were the perfect nautical theme for the “Gilligan’s Island” Rehearsal Dinner Cruise.
The envelopes were navy & I was able to use a lovely pink ink in my new Dylan font to really make an impression on the lucky guests!
