Today I am joining forces with Aspiring Kennedy to spread the word about the Charity Water Campaign.

A dear friend of mine spent a considerable amount of time in Guayaquil, Ecuador taking a look a water and sanitation.  She even wrote a book. When I went to visit… the conditions and seriousness of the dirty water situation was eye opening.  Families spend hours walking to gather water or the pipe systems are contaminated by poor construction.  Often times water collection is only accessible one day a week and must be cleaned rationed for the rest of the week.  Would you want your water to look like this?

No because it contains all this.We are only $350 away from finishing a well in Africa that will provide clean water for 250 people.  This will change their lives.  There are 1 billion people in the world with out access to clean water.  Start the change today.

In case you missed it last week… We are making your dollars work harder during the month of October.  20% of all proceeds are being donated to the SPCA honoring Adopt a Shelter Dog month. 

With the holiday season quickly approaching, this is the perfect time to order gifts, cards and addressing.  We will include a note in all orders indicating their gift also included a donation to the SPCA.Most of the animals at the SPCA are pets that were in a neglectful home or their owners were unable to take care of them anymore.

SPCA shelters are no kill shelters.  They are also not funded by the state or county but are a private not for profit organization.

To rescue an animal the SPCA spends approximately $320 per animal offset only slightly by the adoption fees.  The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations (which can include Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptos, Parvo, Parainfluenza and Bordatella), spay/neuter surgery, deworming treatment, initial heartworm preventative, a rabies tag, a leash and a microchip. Dogs over 6 months of age are also given a heartworm test (SNAP occult).

Wow.  Last week was a busy week over here are The Left Handed Calligrapher.

I love my corporate clients and some of the fun events I get to work with them on. This one was pretty cool – celebrating 100 years of the Bombardier Pacific Coast Open. That is a long time for an event to be held! These lovely invitations used gold thermography and printed by Papyrus in Willow Bend. Sounded like a fun time – wish I could have gone to Cali and escaped the August Texas heat!
