I had the absolute privilege of working with Stefanie of Lavender Joy on a little photo shoot over 6 months ago.  The fruits of her labor were finally shared with the public in the newest issue of Southern Weddings Magazine.  She did such a wonderful job that it was also the cover!  Congratulations to Sefanie, Ryan Ray and Bows and Arrows on putting together a simply sweet southern affair.

Earlier this year I had the joy of working with a dear friend on the logo for her new styling shop – Event Styling by Shawna Marie.  Shawna has an eye for the pretty previously working with Style Me Pretty.  You have seen her work around the web here, here, and here.  She needed an identity to match the classic versatility of her services and I set to work.  We came up with a partial calligraphy logo that could also work with her interior design background by changing “Event” to “Interior”.  It is clean and simple and does not push the trendy – perfect for a stylist who needs to have a wide range of ideas for creating such unique events.

This weekend a pretty neat event is happening at Union Station on Sunday, November 4 from 2-7 pm.  It is called The Art of Bridal Style, put on by November Lily and features beauty treatments, drinks and a fashion show with wedding gown designers Carol Hannah (LOVE!) and Nha Khahn.  You can purchase tickets here.  It’s a fashion focused bridal event with so many cool things like a beauty lounge with services like eyelash extensions, teeth whitening, make-up and hair stations, etc with a fashion show as well… and we can’t forget the Men’s 007 groom’s lounge and the Baubles bar (the accessories lounge).

Of course several of our friends are involved: Southern Fried Paper, Perez Photography, Wolfgang Puck

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of designing a wedding invitation for a Bella Figura client who is from Norway.  It was super fun to write in a foreign language and this invitation suite turned out lovely.  Check out more on the Bella Figura blog here and thanks to them for sharing!

Wow – 2 years ago this couple tied the knot!  Congratulations!

I am sort of in love with this Betsy White invitation.  The gold dotted stripes make me happy.  The bride already picked out the invitations and in our consultation asked if it was possible to match the lettering.  This is something I do quite often for brides – it never hurts to ask!

A few years back I got to work on some pretty patriotic invitations for a fourth of July wedding.  Since we just passed the holiday and their 2 year anniversary, I thought I would share some images.

I really was pleased with the way the addressing turned out with the very bold ornament printed on the envelope.  It did need to be centered for the pretty factor.  We matched the font (which I now offer as a regular – look for it soon on the website) and used a nice blue ink color.  I love the little belly band they used with this invitation, it works really well.

These two are about to celebrate their 2 year anniversary and I think that I can finally share the photos of their stationery!  I worked with Julian Leaver (who is now with Bella Flora) and the lovely Hollye Edwards of Carta Creations.  They had a beautiful wedding in Ravello, Italy filled with photographers Karlisch + Wrubel and DJ Lucy Wruble mixing the tunes.  It sounded like an incredible event.

These are the great save the dates.  We used the Jane font – the envelopes were pretty tiny so it worked out well.  I love the envelopements pattern liner and folder.

The invitations had the same colors palette.  I adore the cute monogram tag and thick satin wrap that holds the suite together.

A few iphone pics from Julian.  The estate tables under the incredible arching ceiling is simply stunning.

The escort cards – hanging by more pretty satin ribbon… and a close up of the table setting – you can see place cards and personalized menus adorned with my calligraphy.

Wow – back in the June 2011 issue of Traditional Home Magazine I had a few great shots of my calligraphy partnered with the lovely paper stylings of Orange Spot Pink Nose.  (pages 64 and 66 if you have the print copy!)

L.A. based event planner Rachel Hollis put together a refresh of the white china chosen years ago with new bold service plates and linens.  This inspired a lovely rich and warm new look for the dining table.  You can see my hand lettered menu and place cards that hang on the back of each chair rather than at the head of the place setting.

I love the look and functionality of this – frees up valuable space on the table for all the plates, glasses and silverware! You can also see a little hand lettered tag for a sweet take home treat – perfect end to a evening with friends.

On a side note – you can also see my menus used by Rachel for a TV segment on Fox 5 San Diego talking about Valentine’s Day on a Budget :-)

Wow!  It’s amazing that June is already here – May completely passed me by!

I am excited to share this Memorial Day Entertaining Guide (a little late but still applicable to summer entertaining), my calligraphy was paired up with a wonderful segment by Kim Whitman on the Today Show for Memorial Day.

Kim put together a fun popcorn bar and used my lettering for the item signs.  They turned out super cute with the red and blue paper with white lettering and fun ribbon accents.

I really love the little signs with the modern take on the red paper border only being on the top & bottom rather than all the way around.  Also – who doesn’t love how much the white ink pops on that gorgeous navy blue card?  It’s about as yummy as the popcorn bar and toppings!
