Wow – I was so privileged to work with such a great group of creatives on this unique style shoot.  Think: Metallic, sequins, desert, soft and dreamy.  Plus, it was all captured on film by the oh so talented Taylor Lord.  A couple photos below – but check out the whole feature on 100 Layer Cake here.

Modern German Calligraphy – Luden & Luder Photobook

Posted in Branding/Logo, Cool Threads, calligraphy, images, published on November 28th, 2012 by nicole

I loved working with a Munich company on this catalogue for spectacles.  Each frame was named and had a different (but cohesive) lettering style.  The cover is just stunning and every bit of the inside is beautiful.  I have several picks for some new glasses now :-)

The Art of Bridal Style

Posted in Cool Threads, Happening Events, Surprises, Wonderous Weddings, vendor love on October 31st, 2012 by nicole

This weekend a pretty neat event is happening at Union Station on Sunday, November 4 from 2-7 pm.  It is called The Art of Bridal Style, put on by November Lily and features beauty treatments, drinks and a fashion show with wedding gown designers Carol Hannah (LOVE!) and Nha Khahn.  You can purchase tickets here.  It’s a fashion focused bridal event with so many cool things like a beauty lounge with services like eyelash extensions, teeth whitening, make-up and hair stations, etc with a fashion show as well… and we can’t forget the Men’s 007 groom’s lounge and the Baubles bar (the accessories lounge).

The tickets are $45 and include eats from the Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Pearl Vodka drinks, and two beauty treatments which is a great deal if you think of what these cost individually.  Check out the link for more info and to buy your tickets.

Of course several of our friends are involved: Southern Fried Paper, Perez Photography, Wolfgang Puck

BHLDN

Posted in Cool Threads, Wonderous Weddings on February 16th, 2011 by nicole

Well – you all have most likely heard about the Valentine launch of the Anthropologie wedding line BHLDN (pronounced beholden).

A quick browse around the site and most of their items are vintage feeling & inspired.  Exactly what you would expect from Anthropologie.  A lovely collection of hair accessories, lingerie, dainty jewelery and gowns.  All available on-line only (a store opening sometime – location unknown) and sizes run identical to anthropologie sizing.

This is my favorite item :-)

Wow – I love J. Crew’s newest line of dresses. They are lovely & flirty & soft & romantic with a hint of modern. Oh and I love that they are not all $5,0000! Which is your favorite?

Turquoise?

Posted in Cool Threads on December 29th, 2009 by nicole

Pantone announces Turquoise is it’s color for 2010. I could not be more excited. This is what they say…
Turquoise is a color that most people respond to positively. It is universally flattering, has appeal for men and women, and translates easily to fashion and interiors. With both warm and cool undertones, Turquoise pairs nicely with any other color in the spectrum. Turquoise adds a splash of excitement to neutrals and browns, complements reds and pinks, creates a classic maritime look with deep blues, livens up all other greens, and is especially trend-setting with yellow-greens.

It’s been forever since I have been on and have so many posts to share with you for your holiday shopping!
First up – this oh so sweet holiday dress from Kate Spade. The perfect happy mix of ruffles and tweed and structured and feminine. Love for $395 to look perfectly happy and not in black at the holiday party this year.

Fabric Calendar

Back in August I saw this on Oh So Beautiful Paper and still like it. Might be a fun project with the kiddos when they are home for winter break. Everything is better personalized – no?
